Working with the Geoff Charles Collection
Our theme for the Urdd National Eisteddfod in Swansea was photography. Young visitors to our stand could learn more about Early Swansea Photography, and take part in activities based on the Geoff Charles Photograph Collection.
The highlight of the week was a workshop led by Luned Rhys Parri, the National Library of Wales Artist in Residence. Children worked with the artist to produce 3D images using characters from some of Geoff Charles’ most famous photographs.
The Eisteddfod was also an opportunity for the Education Service to distribute resources to pupils, parents and teachers. The new activities packwas very popular, as tired parents could rest while their children worked on the interactive tasks in the pack.
