Describe the Drwm in 3 words
Homely, comfortable, convenient
Since when have you been coming to the Drwm? What is your opinion about the events organised?
I have been coming to the Drwm since it opened. I am amazed with the variety of events organised. The talks are always of high standard. It is one of the best things about living in Aberystwyth – I have enjoyed getting to know about the vast variety of topics and characters. It is also a great opportunity to meet people who I would never of met before. The ambience is very welcoming and very professional. It is also a sociable event, and a great opportunity to make new friends – it has been a valuable contribution to my life since retiring. The fact that these events are free, or at a reasonable price is also a big advantage.

What has been your favourite event so far?
It is hard to think of one event in particular – I have enjoyed so many of them. The lecture by the late Kyffin Williams was one of my favourite events and also the presentation by Dr John Graham Jones accompanied by Ffion Hague about Lloyd George and his women was certainly an afternoon to remember. I could go on and on with a long list, and of course Merêd’s 90th birthday celebration.
You are a regular contributor to our Facebook page. Do you think that it is important for institutions to promote themselves through social media?
Yes, definitely. It shows that the National Library is keeping up with the times and gaining an interest by young people. It is a convenient and easy way to know what’s going on, and to also leave a comment if relevant.
Do you use any of the Library’s collections or do you only come to the events held at the Drwm?
Because of a chronic back problem that I have I cannot take full advantage of the Library’s collections. I tend to assign my ‘sitting down time’ for events held in the Drwm. I have a reader’s ticket and live in hope that I will be able to use it one day!
