As the Electronic Communications Assistant here at the National Library of Wales a big part of my job is to arrange mailing lists and postings, today we as a department have just completed a posting to over 1500 individuals and organisations on our mailing list, all of which have showed an interest in our Exhibitions. We are at present preparing three different exhibitions. In the upper central hall, Claudia Williams: Remember Tryweryn is exhibited. Joan Baker A Retrospective: 65 years of Painting and also Curwen: Art, Words and Music in Print will be situated in the Gregynog Gallery. A very busy period for our Exhibitions team!
Having a valid and correct mailing list is vitally important to the library’s day-to-day work. We use the Donor Strategy software, which allows us to keep control and monitor all individuals and organisations. Updating the system is very important and making sure all information is valid.
We complete around 10 mail shots per year to people all over the world inviting all to come and visit us here at the National Library of Wales. We also find the facilities of Facebook and Twittera very effective and efficient way to reach a very wide audience and promoting events and exhibitions .
