June is a particularly busy month for the promotions team. As you see in the Drwm Summer programme of events we have been busy promoting ten events, attending the Hay Festival and the Urdd Eisteddfod. Also, planning ahead to the next few months, thinking about new ideas and different and exciting techniques on how to promote various events. The programme is tailored by a group of individuals from various departments across the library to ensure that we cover all aspects of the library’s work, facilities and collections our responsibility is to then promote the events.
Here are some of the varied events held at the National Library this month;
The Charing Ceremony, a live broadcast direct from the Urdd National Eisteddfod.
An evening with Rory Cellan-Jones, a very popular event, a great crowd attended and many questions arose from the audience question time I believe that Rory gave his presentation using an I pad to show his presentation on screen. Great example of new technology-himself being a BBC Technology Correspondent!
We are now looking forward to Smile it’s Friday an informal event held at Pen Dinas and the Ceredigion Starsconcert. The evening will be a treat of various items from local Urdd competitors and a great opportunity for the Library to host an event that coincides with the recent Urdd Eisteddfod being so close to home here in Ceredigion!
