This is the select group with responsibility for describing the materials collected from Pwllfanogl. It’s their privilege to present the collection to Wales and the world.
Siân Bowyer
Siân, originally from Mold, has worked at the Library for the past seventeen years. She’s worked mainly as an Assistant Archivist, cataloguing the papers of prominent literary figures such as Glyn Jones, Roland Mathias and Gillian Clarke. Her most recent challenge, of course, is to sort and catalogue KW’s papers, including his correspondence and diaries, giving her the opportunity to delve into the character and life of one of Wales’s greatest artists.
Iwan Dafis
Originally from Pembrokeshire, Iwan joined the Library staff in 2008, specifically to catalogue the works of art in the KW Bequest. Although his background is in banking and business, his experience in the field of art is extensive. Himself an artist, with a degree in fine art, he is currently studying Kyffin as part of his higher degree course. He therefore has every opportunity to put his wide knowledge to good use when cataloguing!
Will Troughton
Will, a native of Aberystwyth, has worked at the Library since 1992. He holds the post of Visual Images Librarian, and is responsible for the National Collection of Welsh Photographs, comprising some 800,000 photographs – the largest collection in Wales. He is currently organising and cataloguing the valuable photgraphic material within the KW bequest, including slides, photographs and negatives, many featuring the landscape of Wales and Patagonia.
Lon Vaughan
Originally from Boncath, Pembrokeshire, Lon joined the Library staff in 2008, in the Digital Development Section. She’s worked on various projects and, in her current role as the metadata officer for the KW project, is the critical link between the cataloguers and the scanners – keeping record and tracking the movement of pictures, papers and photographs.
