Following the artist Kyffin Williams’s death in 2006 the National Library of Wales acquired a large part of his estate, encompassing the artist’s own works of art, his extensive collection of art by others, and his archives, including his correspondence, diaries and photographs. Such a large and varied collection will enable researchers, school and college students, as well as individuals interested in Kyffin, to gain a greater understanding of the life and work of one of Wales’s most renowned artists of the twentieth century.
Before the collection can be made available it first needs to be catalogued and digitised, and the Kyffin Williams Bequest Project was set up for that purpose. The project will end in January 2011. This blog is designed to provide updates about the cataloguing and various other aspects of the project, whilst also sharing information about any interesting items found in the collection.
More about the bequest and project can be seen on the Kyffin Williams Bequest page on the National Library of Wales website.
