Lunchtime Presentations

On Wednesday 5 June, the latest in the series of popular lunchtime presentations was held in the Library. These presentations are proving very popular, drawing audiences from a wide area to learn more about the Library and its collections.

The title of this particular presentation was ‘Doniau’r Duwiol a’r Diwyd’ by Dr Llion Roberts, Cardiff University, as he took a fresh look at some of Wales’sPicture 048 famous nineteenth century preachers. An opportunity to breathe new life into this aspect of Welsh history as we learnt more about their lives and exploits – without doubt the pop stars of their time!

As with all our presentations, this was recorded, and will be retained as part of the National Screen and Sound Archive of Wales, which is located at the Library. A small portion of this presentation, as has happened with others, has been placed on the Library’s YouTube page. If you want to see any of these presentations in their entirety, please contact the Archive.

The next lunchtime presentation will be by Jasmine Donahaye, as she discusses her book, Whose People? Wales, Israel, Palestine (University of Wales Press) – free admission by ticket, so book now to secure your seat! The presentation is sponsored by The Learned Society of Wales.

We also tweet feeds from all our lunchtime presentations. If you’re unable to attend, interested in what’s been discussed, and would like to contribute, follow us on #awrginio

Remember, that our summer programme, full of events and information can be found on online.
