Wrexham Eisteddfod 2011

Library's stand at the Eisteddfod

TheĀ  National Eisteddfod in Wrexham, is without any doubt, is Wales’s most important cultural event. The diversity of the competitions held – music, poetry, literature, arts, and dance, testify to the talents available in Wales, and draws thousands of visitors daily to enjoy the varied competitions. ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent has nothing on the Eisteddfod, and perhaps the TV producers should take some time to visit and see for themselves? After all, we’ve always known that Wales has plenty of talent!

Of course, the competitions in the main pavilion don’t always attract everyone’s attention. There are varied and interesting events being held throughout the week, and the Library’s stand, is among the best of these! From Monday – Friday, we have a varied selection of free talks and presentations, some of which have a local flavour, which include, Nic Parri, Aled Lewis Evans and ‘Mr Producer’ Stifyn Parri.

On Tuesday a special birthday party will be held to celebrate the tenth birthday of the
National Screen and Sound Archive of Wales – party hats and streamers optional!

Every lunchtime, 12.00-12.15 p.m. live gigs will be performed to entertain you, so make sure your there to enjoy the music.
