COLLECTING POLICIES

Records relating to the geographic area of the former historic county of Pembroke, including local government archives; public and official archives (courts of law, hospitals, etc.); private archives including those of families, estates, industry, and trade; and archives of ecclesiastical parishes.


READING ROOM RULES AND REGULATIONS

  1. Pencils only.
  2. No food or drink (including sweets) to be consumed in the searchroom.
  3. No bags on tables in the searchroom
  4. Do not lean on documents, and avoid unnecessary handling of documents
  5. Photocopying at the discretion of the Archivist (no more than 20 per person per day).
  6. Photography at the discretion of the Archivist.
  7. No more than two documents per person at any one time.

ADMINISTRATIVE HISTORY

Pembrokeshire Record Office was established in 1963. It has served Pembrokeshire County Council 1963-1974, Dyfed County Council 1974-1996 and Pembrokeshire County Council since 1996.
