MacAskill has researched, explored and experienced the collections at The National Library of Wales. This exhibition tells the story of her discoveries and shows artworks that form a personal portrait of the Library, reflecting her response to the residency undertaken between January and October 2008. The exhibition will feature photography and mixed media artworks, as well as a film project, and will be designed to fully utilise the library’s building. The exhibition will also contain work created on the project by four schools from all over Wales; Tan y Castell (Harlech), Nantgaredig, Llanidloes and Bro Ddyfi (Machynlleth). Under Blue MacAskill’s guidance, the pupils have enhanced their understanding of what the Library has to offer them and their communities. A series of visits to the Library, and several workshops held at the schools led by MacAskill, have resulted in the making of these artworks.
