A Warm Welcome to Students!

Mon, 28 Sep 09 16:34:00

Pen DinasThe National Library would like to offer a warm welcome to ‘fresher’ students at Aberystwyth and beyond, and say welcome back to veterans!

For all the latest information to students remember to keep an eye on our Higher Education page

If you have not been in the Library before, remember that you are welcome to come here to work, to enjoy our exhibitions or have a meal or coffee.

The Library is located behind the university swimming pool or, if you are coming from town or in the car, turn at the junction between Pantycelyn Hall and Bronglais Hospital. But remember, there is now a charge of £1 for 4 hours or £2 for a day’s parking in our car park (although you will receive a refund on the value of the ticket at the Library’s shop and Pen Dinas café).

As a reader at the National Library you not only have access to our collection of up to 5 million books, but you will also be able to make use of our wide range of subscribed electronic resources. By logging in with your reader's ticket number, External Resources, will give you instant access  to online collections such as The Times Online and 19th Century British Newspapers free of charge.

Remember also that the North Reading Room - the reading room for books, magazines and newspapers – has been newly refurbished. Take a look at the north reading room video for more information.

Welcome back!
