First Minister, Rhodri Morgan AM at NLW

Wed, 04 Nov 09 12:32:00

The First Minister, Rhodri Morgan AM, will give this year’s Welsh Political Archive’s annual lecture on Friday 6 November 2009.

The Archive is a part of the National Library of Wales and previous speakers have included Lord Elystan-Morgan, Ron Davies and Lord Crickhowell.

The First Minister will discuss how vevolution has made Wales the testing lab of policies from free perscription charges for Welsh citizens to the development of ‘learning through play’ for under 7 year olds at primary schools in Wales.

Tickets for the lecture at the Drwm have already ‘sold out’ but the Library prepared over flow facilities for those who wish to hear the lecture. The lecture will be transcribed and filmed and will be placed on the Library’s website in the near future.

'It is a particular pleasure for the Welsh Political Archive to welcome the Rt Hon. Rhodri Morgan AM as his long and distinguished career in Welsh politics draws to a close, and as the contest to choose his successor gathers momentum and creates much interest throughout Wales'.

The Welsh Political Archive was founded in 1983. It is the repository of political material by all Welsh political parties and many pressure groups, as well as correspondence of leading Welsh political figures from David Lloyd George to the present day.
