The National Library of Wales will celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight between 22 February and 5 March 2010 with a presentation and supply of produce in the Library’s shop and cafe.
The fortnight begins with a presentation in the Drwm at the National Library at 13:15 on Monday 22 February about how Fairtrade benefits producers in the Third World.
The Carmarthenshire-based company, Cadwyn, will give the presenation and show a programme which was broadcast on the Hacio programme on S4C about the effects of trade on the Third World African country, Niger. Fairtrade products will be sold at the Library shop and cafe throughtout the 2 weeks.
‘The National Library stocks and sells many Fairtrade products, including chocolate and coffee, throughout the year. However, we’re very glad to take part in the designated Fairtrade Fortnight,’ said Shân Price of The National Library of Wales.
