A porter at The National Library of Wales, Dilwyn Phillips, and his wife Hazel will be taking part in the Great North Run www.greatrun.org in Newcastle later this month on behalf of the Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.
Last year the couple also ran in the London Marathon, raising almost £2,300 for the Charity which trains dogs to help severely and profound deaf people lead more normal lives.
Dilwyn says they were inspired to back the Charity after meeting Hearing Dog Bertie and recipient Gill Stevenson, who regularly visit the National Library.
‘Having Bertie transformed my life since I’ve had him twelve years ago. It’s great that Dilwyn and Hazel are running to raise money for the Charity,’ said Gill who lives in Llandre near Aberystwyth.
