On 2 November 2011 the National Library of Wales will hold its third Health and Wellbeing Day and also launch its new online stress questionnaire for the Library’s staff. The day is organised by the Library’s Health and Wellbeing Forum and this year’s event coincides with the British Stress Awareness Day www.isma.org.uk/national-stress-awareness-day/ .
Various events will be held during the day across the Library’s building:
• Various stalls will promote health and wellbeing matters at the library’s Education Room with experts on hand to give advice to staff and visitors to the Library
• Pen Dinas Cafe will promote healthy food to staff and visitors
• Staff can find out their blood pressure
• Money Advice Services www.moneyadviceservice.org.uk will hold a talk in the Drwm auditorium
The Chair of the Library’s Health and Wellbeing Forum is Annwen Isaac.
‘This will be an excellent opportunity for staff to gather information at their workplace about issues relating to health and wellbeing. It’s an important step in the right direction to show that the National Library takes the wellbeing of its staff – and any visitors to the Library – seriously,’ said Annwen.
‘Health and Wellbeing are high on the Welsh Government’s agenda too. During the next year the Library will work towards the Corporate Health Standard, which is organised by the Welsh Government. This is the quality mark for promoting health in the workplace across Wales. Our aim is to reach the Bronze Standard by April 2012,’ added Annwen.
