The National Library of Wales will again throw open its doors on Saturday 29th January as we host our annual Open Day. Past open days, which include numerous events such as talks, presentations, behind the scenes tours and gallery talks, have proven popular - and this year’s event will not be an exception.
Numerous events have been arranged throughout the day, with events for adults and younger visitors. Events include behind the scenes guided tours of the Library’s specialist departments. The tours will look at the Library’s Conservation Unit, which works to ensure that the Library’s collections are kept in the best conditions; the Digitisation Unit, as well as give an insight into the library’s recycling facilities.

Additional events held during the day will include a wool spinning demonstration by Keith Rees of the National Wool Museum; Adrian Keenan of Ceredigion County Council will be discussing ways to reduce household refuse and the Centre for Alternative Technology will demonstrate a wide range of alternatives and discuss options for people to achieve a positive change in their own lives.
