Biography Online - Biographies of thousands of Welsh people through the ages

Researchers who wish to find out who was who, in Wales are now able to browse the new updated version of the Welsh Biography Online. Nearly 5,000 names of the great and the good (and not so good) of Welsh life are on the free authoritative bilingual website which has been updated to include those who died since 1970.

Condry Festival - A One Day Festival of Writing and Nature

On 17 October 2009 some of the finest nature writers in Britain will be in the ancient capital of Wales, Machynlleth, for a new one-day festival to commemorate and celebrate the work of the writer and naturalist Bill Condry. The Guardian is a Media Partner to the festival, which is also being supported by Academi and The National Library of Wales – the latter being home to Bill Condry’s personal archive.

70 years after Britain declared war on Nazi Germany, The National Library of Wales has unveiled online copies of the 'Cymro' (Welshman) magazine, created by Welsh prisoners of war in the wooden huts of the notorious POW camp Stalag IVB in Germany during the Second World War.
