An extensive review of our current journal subscriptions is being undertaken at the National Library of Wales. These print subscriptions account for an ever-increasing proportion of the Library’s acquisitions budget, and in recent years have risen considerably in price. Furthermore, due to changing user needs, the Library is prioritising more of its purchasing budget towards online electronic resources, a number providing full-text access to journals.

During the review, the Library has identified a number of journals for cancellation. Before proceeding to cancel these journals, the Library will offer them for public consultation. If you believe that the National Library of Wales should continue subscribing to a journal that is on the review list, please email journals@llgc.org.uk by 26th  of August 2013. Your comments will be used to prioritize this list, and comments of a positive nature will result in a greater chance of continuing a subscription.
