Welcome

Welcome to the Readers Services newsletter. We aim to present the latest news to you, and inform you of recent developments. We will also explain how we try to respond to your comments.
For information on how to become a 'reader' at the Library, please visit the Reading at the National Library of Wales page.
Probate Records

In response to comments received from our readers it is now possible to purchase copies of probate records online. This new service allows you to view probate records from home, and to buy a digital copy, that will be delivered electronically to your computer. These high quality copies are of wills that were proven in the Welsh ecclesiastical courts before the introduction of Civil Probate on 11 January 1858.
For further details regarding wills and probate records visit the Wills and Probate Records Page.
North Reading Room

The North Reading Room has now been open for a year following its renovation and development. The facilities on offer within the Reading Room have proven so popular that the first-floor gallery has been opened up to allow for more readers.
Wifi will of course be available on the gallery as well as in both reading rooms and the main hall area. However, only battery-powered laptops will benefit from this facility in the gallery as no electricity sockets are available there.
Comments have recently been received by readers regarding the use of the study rooms, therefore two of the rooms have been allocated for group study. By using these rooms you are able to share your textbooks and discuss the subject without disturbing the other readers. Remember, you do not need to book the study rooms.
Aquabrowser

Aquabrowser is the new easy way to search the Library's full catalogue.
You are able to search the Library's holdings by typing your query in the text box. In the central panel, you will get the search results, ranked by relevance.
The word cloud on the left shows you related terms, spelling variations and translations, you are able to click on words in the word cloud to explore the contents of the catalogue.
Please remember to let us know what you think of it.
Welsh Journals Online

The National Library of Wales holds the world’s largest collection of journals relating to Wales, and Welsh Journals Online provides free access to a large range of these. The back-numbers of up to 50 titles will be available here, ranging from academic and scientific publications to literary and popular magazines, and new titles are regularly added. Complete runs of each title have been included; the most recent issue available depends on the publisher, and will vary from title to title. Some pages have been blanked out for copyright reasons on the website.
The presentation of the journals on the web has been undertaken by the National Library of Wales with support from JISC and Welsh Assembly Government and the cooperation of publishers and authors.
