The Library has re-opened on Saturdays.
Our reception staff will be happy to help you on your arrival at the Library, and members of staff are on hand throughout the Library should you require any assistance during your visit.

This How to Use the Library leaflet is designed to give information about The National Library of Wales to readers and visitors.
The Library reserves the right to examine all bags on entry to the Library.
We ask that readers and visitors wishing to visit the Reading Rooms leave all coats and bags in the lockers provided. A £1 coin (refundable) per locker is required.
From 1 June 2009 visitors and readers to The National Library of Wales will be charged a small fee for parking (Monday - Friday only).

The fee will be applicable to vehicles parked in either the red or white bays.
Drivers with a valid disable badge are exempt from paying.
Parking receipts can be used as payment towards one purchase in the Library at the Pen Dinas Cafe, Shop or photocopying services on the day of parking only. Money will not be refunded against parking receipts.

A number of members of staff are qualified in first aid. Any accident or illness should be reported either to the supervisor of one of the Reading Rooms or to a member of the uniformed security staff in the Central Hall.
The fire alarm is a continuous ringing. Readers should evacuate the building as directed by members of staff and follow the green signs “Emergency EXIT Brys” to make their way to the front outside terrace of the Library, using the doors on the lower ground floor (Lefel -1).

The Library supports the Customer Service Excellence standard. Service standards are prominently displayed in the Reading Rooms. Any comments or complaints about services can be made to a senior member of staff on duty at service points. You are also welcome to complete a Comments Form (available at service points) or send a letter to the Librarian. You will receive a reply within 10 working days.
Suggestions for acquisitions may be made by word of mouth to a senior member of staff on duty, by completing a Comments Form, or by letter to the Librarian.
