Life of Leisure

1 October 2011 - 3 March 2012

Leisure is powerful because its activities and pursuits are truly everywhere, touching the lives of all human beings. On 1 October 2011, a large-scale exhibition at the Library will attempt to capture the history of leisure in Wales. Visit the exhibition to discover how recreational activities in Wales over the centuries have defined the nation.

This major exhibition will showcase some of the finest items in our collections; items that are usually hidden deep within the Library. It will include iconic photographic collections, striking holiday posters, paintings that capture a way of life, film, music, maps, ephemera and rare manuscripts containing references to traditional games, hobbies and recreations in Wales.
