Guided Tours and Group Visits

Free guided tours of The National Library of Wales are offered on:

  • Mondays at 11:00 
  • Wednesdays at 14:15


Any changes to tour days or times can be found on the Library's website, in the local press and on posters around the building.

How to join a tour

Tours start from the Library Shop on the ground floor (Level -1), next to the reception.

Although the tours are free of charge you will need to reserve tickets in advance. You can do this:

  • by visiting the Library Shop


The tours last approximately an hour and a half and give an introduction to:

  • Library's history
  • its collections  
  • its building

Group Visits

The National Library of Wales welcomes groups of all kinds to visit and to use our varied services.  

We kindly ask groups to inform us of their visit beforehand. Many of our organised visits are by:

  • local history societies
  • family history societies
  • schools
  • voluntary groups
  • clubs and associations

Accessibility

All areas visited during the tour are accessible to wheelchair users. Elevators may be used to reach the Library's 3 floors. The tour does involve walking around the building and standing for periods of time.

Please advise us of any specific requirements you may have which could affect your enjoyment of the tour.

Gregynog Gallery

On 7th and 10th - 14th November the Gregynog Gallery will be hosting Arad Goch Theatre Company.

The Dylan exhibition will remain open as usual to the public, although visitors are advised there may be some disruption in the gallery during this period.
