Everyone is welcome to visit the Library but if you want to enjoy the experience of using the Reading Rooms you must first have a valid reader's ticket.
By registering to use the Library you agree to accept our Terms and Conditions with regard to the use of the Reading Rooms.
The National Library of Wales is not a lending library so you have to consult material in one of our three reading rooms, or where available, on-line. We encourage visitors to pre order material before their visit (essential on Saturdays).
North Reading Room: printed material including books, journals, original newspapers
South Reading Room: non print material including archives, manuscripts, microforms, photographs, pictures and maps
National Screen and Sound Archive: sound and moving images including films, television programmes, videos, sound recordings and music
