Confirmation of gift of lands to the abbey of Strata Marcella (Ystrad Marchell) by Gwenwynwyn son of Owain Cyfeiliog.

Wennunwen son of Owen of Keveyllauc, moved by piety, for the salvation of his soul and those of his father, mother and all his ancestors and successors, has given, granted and confirmed by this present charter (to the abbey of Ystrad Marchell), in free, quiet and pure alms and perpetual possession, freely and quietly, well and peacefully, without any counter-claim, exaction and secular custom, all the land called Hauot Oweyn with all its bounds, from the black dyke in a stright line to Everenvy, Evernoy to Nant ereyre, Nant er ere to its source, from its source along the top of the mountain to Bon emaen melyn, thence in a straight line to Red evoch, from Redevoch along the top of the mountain to the source of the Nanhanauc, the Nanhanauc along its length to Pullydan; on the other side, from the aforesaid black dyke along its circuit to the stream called Hurd, the Hurd along its length to the Hyaen, the Hyaen along its course upwards to the ford near Talerdic, and from that ford through the hollow by the circuit of the land to Wevn rvd, where the stream that descends to Pullydan rises, and along the stream to Pullydan. He has also given Cumekalch with all its bounds and appurtenances, on the one side, from the outlet of the stream that descends into the Haen along its course to Bulch ellogeyl, and from that place along the top of the mountain to Ryv egof, and thus again along the top of the mountain to Blaen bodreyswal; on the other side, Ebrendv from the Hyaen along the top of the mountain to the said place Blaen bodreyswal. he has also given Penant kenlleng within these bounds: from the source of the stream called Nant er esgollev along its length to the Dulas, the Dulas in length to Aberdengy, the Deng upwards to its source; likewise also that land which lies between the Dulas and Nant eresgollev. He wishes that the aforenamed monks may hold, with everlasting right, the aforesaid lands within all their bounds, well, peacefully and quietly, without any exaction, challenge or secular custom, both in wood and in plain, in waters, in ways and paths, in pastures and grazing-lands, and in all their uses and usages. Lest any of his successors should seek at the instigation of the devil to violate his gift, he has secured and confirmed it both with the impression of his seal and by the attestation of good men.
