Confirmation of gift of lands to the abbey of Strata Marcella (Ystrad Marchell) by Hywel ap Hywel.
Howel son of Howel has given, granted and confirmed by the present charter to God, the Blessed Mary and the monks of Stradmarhel the land called Cumluit in pure and perpetual alms, free from all debt and exaction, both secular and ecclesiastical, in all its borders, bounds and appurtenances, in wood and plain, in cultivated and uncultivated land, in meadows and pastures, in moors and waters, in fishing and fisheries, and in all its uses and usages, above and below the same land, for the saving and salvation of his soul and those of his father, mother, ancestors and successors, just as before him, Katwaladyr, his brother, had given and confirmed with his seal, after receiveng the price of fifteen marks from the afore-mentioned monks of Stradmerhel. The boundaries of this gift are as follows: from a place called Pennan Bacho to a river called Luyt and on both sides of the same river in all its bounds and appurtenances.
