Confirmation of saleof lands to the abbey of Strata Marcella (Ystrad Marchell) by Gwenwynwyn ap Owain Cyfeiliog.
Wennunwen son of Owin and all the heirs of the land called Roswidaul have sold to the monks of Stradmarchell to be their personal and perpetual possession, for five and a half pounds, all the land called Roswidavl with all its bounds and appurtenances, in wood and plain, in waters and pastures, and in all its uses and usages, freely and quietly, and exempt from all exaction, custom and secular service. This agreement was made in the year of the incarnation of the Lord one thousand one hundred and ninety-nine at Stradmarchell into the hands of S. the prior. And lest in future the aforesaid agreement should be disturbed or confounded by evil men, he has confirmed it with the protection of his charter, the impression of his seal and by the attestation of witnesses.
