Confirmation of gift of pasturage of the province of Mochnant by Gwenwynwyn ab Owain Cyfeiliog to the abbey of Strata Marcella (Ystrad Marchell).
Wennunwen son of Owin, for the salvation of his soul and those of his father and mother, has given, granted and confirmed to God, the Blessed Mary and the monks of Stradmarchell in pure and perpetual alms all the pasturage of the province called Mochnant within these bounds: in length from Dolewennev near Aberkenllith to Cum uagel, in breadth from Kenneureon to the river called Euernoe and Llanwothin which is likewise the boundary. He wishes that the aforesaid monks may possess all the aforesaid pastures, well and in peace and without any exaction or secular custom, with everlasting right, both in wood and in plain, within the afore-named bounds and within others not named, which he possesses completely so that no other religious men may ever have any pasturage or land or possession in the same province except only the hospitaller brothers who have now acquired the lands. Of the rest, no others shall proceed to occupy the lands or pastures, neither by request nor purchase nor in any other way.
