Confirmation of the gift of lands (listed below) by Meilyr ap Nennanu, Glasadain ap Nennau, Gruffudd ab Iorweth ap Cadwgon Gruffudd ab Elli? Cynig to the abbey of Strata Marcella (Ystrad Marchell) and list of various concessions to donors by the abbey.
Meilir son of Nennau has given and granted to God and the Blessed Mary to be the possession of the monks of Stratmarhel all the land from the river called Luht and from its source to Clawedauc, for himself and for all his heirs and successors, freely and quietly, well, in peace, in wood , in plain, in meadows and grazing lands and pastures, in all its uses and usages, for the salvation of his soul and those of his parents and heirs, with everlasting right. In addition, he has given to the said monks the field beyond the river Luhit which is called Lannerhc cumluhit in exchange for a certain bull valued at eighty pence until he might redeem the said field from them for a similar sum. Glasadein son of Nenau and his four sons, Kefnerht, Gurgeneu, Griffud, Lewelin, have given the said lands to the said monks in pure and everlasting alms, both for themselves and their heirs in the same way and have granted the same as their said co-heirs, freely and quietly, without any future reclamation and having first accepted these benefits, namely, a horse worth one pound accepted by Glasadein, but his four sons accepted two pounds in advance (witnesses named). In addition, Grifud son of Ioruerht son of Kadugaun gave the said land with all its bounds and appurtenances, both for himself and for all his heirs with the same privileges as those of the said heirs, having previously accepted a mark and forty pence as a gift. Grifud son of Ellih Kenig gave the aforesaid land, namely, Cumluit with all its bounds on either side of the river to the said monks both for himself and his (family) and successors, freely and quietly, as well as his co-heirs. These gifts and concessions were made in the chapterhouse of the monks, witnessed by the convent.
