Confirmation of the gift of rights in lands adjacent to the town of Montgomery, to the abbey of Strata Marcella (Ystrad Marchell).
Wennunwen of Keueilliauc, lord of Mungumeri, for the salvation of his soul and those of his ancestors and successors, has given and granted and by this his present charter confirmed to the monks of Stradmarchel in free, quiet, and everlasting alms, the usages of all the lands adjacent to his town of Mungumeri, which are subject to his lordship, so that no other religious monks or canons or again any others might acquire or hold any possessions within the lands or pastures or again in any other desirable places as might look towards the usage of the said monks either by purchase or in any other manner within all the said lands or in the vill of Mungumeri itself except by permission and good will of the said monks of Stradmarchel, except the lands which religious men have acquired for themselves before his lordship there. And lest this his gift be rendered infirm by the process of time, he has strengthened it and confirmed it both with the impression of his seal and by the attestation of good men (witnesses named). Given in the year from the incarnation of the Lord 1215, in the same year as he acquired the same aforesaid land.
