Judgement of Maredudd ap Rhobert on the dispute concerning Deupiu (Pen Clun) and Hirard.
Judgement of Mareduth son of Rhobert, lord of Kedeweinc (appointed by Lewelin son of Iorerd, lord of Arwistili, to preside in his place at Llandinan) on the dispute between Gurgeneu, Benuen, Madoc, Ieuaf and Dauid sons of Griffud Hyruein, Caradoc son of Grifri, and Ithael and Ioruerd sons of Kefnerth son of Gwin and their other co-heirs, and the men called 'fettaneit', concerning the lands called Deupiu and Hirard. On the day and at the place appointed, many good men from Kedeweinc and Arwistili assembled, and the 'fettaneit' claimed the said lands. At their request, twenty-four arbitrators called 'datuerwer' of the better men of Arwistili were accepted. After diligent and prudent discussion of the truth of the cause, it was arbitrated that the 'fettaneit' had no legal right in the lands. There was then discussion on this arbitration and again the 'fettaneit' were entirely disjudged from the land for eternity.
